Orioles Blank Twins 10-0: Sugano Shines, Power Bats Stay Hot
Tomoyuki Sugano continues his dominant spring, while Mountcastle, Rutschman, and Cowser lead an offensive explosion in a shutout victory.
Orioles Dominate Twins 10-0 as Sugano Stays Perfect and Bats Bring the Power
The Baltimore Orioles cruised to a 10-0 shutout win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday night, showcasing dominant pitching and an explosive offense. Tomoyuki Sugano set the tone early with another sharp outing, while the lineup capitalized on key opportunities to put the game away early. With both the pitching staff and power hitters clicking, the Orioles continue to build momentum as Spring Training winds down.
Sugano Stays Untouchable
Tomoyuki Sugano continues to be one of the biggest stories of Orioles camp, delivering another scoreless outing to keep his ERA at a perfect 0.00 this spring. The veteran right-hander worked 3.1 innings, allowing just one hit while pounding the zone with efficiency. Across 10.1 spring innings, Sugano has thrown 67.5% of his pitches for strikes, showing excellent command and composure on the mound.
The bullpen followed suit, with Félix Bautista, Matt Bowman, and Nick Vespi keeping the Twins off the board. Bautista, making another step in his return, needed just seven pitches to get through his inning, a promising sign for Orioles fans hoping to see him back in his dominant form.
After seeing this guy throw a few innings from this close, I’m way more in than I was. Easy delivery. Pinpoint location. Doesn’t need to throw 100. Might even throw a few coins on a ROY win.
I’m buying Sugano stock. All of it.— Jason Benowitz (@jbenowitz1831)

Big Swings Break It Open
The Orioles didn’t just win—they slugged their way past the Twins. Ryan Mountcastle got things rolling with a two-run shot in the second, then ripped a two-RBI double in the third for a four-RBI night.
Adley Rutschman kept the fireworks going, launching a two-run homer in the fourth, and Colton Cowser followed up with a two-run blast of his own. Just like that, the Orioles had put the game out of reach.
From top to bottom, the lineup looked locked in. They worked four walks, picked up clutch two-out hits, and made sure every mistake the Twins made turned into runs. If this kind of power carries into the regular season, Birdland is in for some fun.
Holliday Looks the Part of a Star
At just 21 years old, Jackson Holliday is playing like a guy who’s been in the big leagues for years. The No. 1 prospect in baseball added another hit, a walk, and two runs scored, doing exactly what he’s done all spring—setting the table and making things happen.
Every game, Holliday is proving he’s more than just potential—he’s ready to be a game-changer for the Orioles right now. Whether it’s working deep counts, spraying line drives, or showing off his instincts on the bases, he’s playing like a guy who’s about to take MLB by storm.
Complete Team Effort
It wasn’t just the bats and pitching that stood out—the Orioles played clean, fundamental baseball from start to finish. They committed zero errors, kept the Twins from generating any momentum, and backed up their pitchers with solid defense all night.
When a team dominates all three phases of the game—pitching, hitting, and defense—it’s a recipe for winning, and that’s exactly what the Orioles delivered in this one.
